Position Overview:
As a Data Engineer at Insuraviews, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our platform. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines to collect, transform, and store data from various sources. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality insights to our customers and drive innovation in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Build ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Develop and implement data models, database schemas, and data warehousing solutions to support analytical and reporting needs.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with data analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Automate data processing tasks and improve data workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure.
- Document data processes, data flows, and system architecture.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, PySpark).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-based data services.
- Experience with ETL tools and technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, Dataflow).
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, data vault).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with insurance data is a plus.
